In specialised translations, linguistic quality and subject-matter knowledge are closely connected. This is why I’m focusing on the subject areas I know best.

While I offer a wide range of services – from translation and interpreting to editing and language training – they all have one thing in common: They are centered around the intersection of language and law (and a few related areas).

As a lawyer-linguist, I aim to provide legal translations that render the original text as precisely as possible, while taking into account the purpose of the translation and the target group. I pay special attention to the correct legal terminology in the given context, taking into account different meanings of terms in the legal systems concerned.

I have completed MA-level studies in Austrian law, political science/history and translation studies. I hold C2 certificates in my working languages English, French and Italian and a TOLES Advanced certificate for Legal English. Moreover, I’m a certified data protection officer – your confidential data is in safe hands.

As a lawyer, I have more than a decade of professional experience in the public, private and non-profit sector. I’ve worked as Head of Legal, Compliance and Risk Management of a Quasi-International Organisation and as Senior Legal Counsel of a university and a research-driven start-up.

In other words: I know from my first-hand experience what lawyers expect from legal translations.
